Catapult Returns

Catapult reopened recently after being closed for nearly three years. A lot has happened since it was last operating. Here’s a look back at what life was like way back in 2015.

  • Centennial Screamer was still on the south end
  • Cannibal had only been open for a matter of weeks
  • There was no Zeppe’s, Swig, Carousel Candy, Ruka Safari or Flying Tigers at Lagoon
  • Hydro-Luge was open
  • Roller Coaster still had its old trains from the 1970s
  • The price of an all day pass was $49.95
  • The national average price of a gallon of gas was $2.40
  • The average cost of a movie ticket was $8.34
  • Blockbuster movies from that summer included The Avengers: Age Of Ultron and Jurassic World

  • Apple’s iPhone 6S and Samsung’s Galaxy S6 were the newest phones on the market
  • Barack Obama was president
  • The hit songs on the radio included Sugar by Maroon 5, Style by Taylor Swift and Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars

  1. I’m sure Lagoon was just waiting for a new 2018 Jurassic World movie before fixing it.

Thank you for putting together a 2015 perspective. A lot has changed in just 3 years.
