rides at Lagoon in 1988 (two were added the year before and Lagoon-A-Beach was under construction) but they made up for it with one of their busiest entertainment schedules ever. In addition to the usual musical shows, marching band, Wild West Shoot-Out and plays at the Opera House, there were also live concerts by world-renown musicians like Chubby Checker, The Mamas &amp; The Papas, Three Dog Night and others. There had been high diving shows at Lagoon before but this was the first time they were held regularly at a permanent venue. There were also sea lion shows at the theater. Because of this and the pig races in Pioneer Village, 1988 was advertised as the summer of &#8220;Seals &amp; Squeeels&#8221; at Lagoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter
