Just browsing the web for things on my Dad Jerry Gray, when I came across this info. I live in SLC now, but for years I carried a small souvenir knife (gold) with the inscription of the band and the opening at Lagoon, which I did not recognize until I moved here.

Very interesting! Would it be possible to submit a picture of the knife? I’m sure many others who come to this website would enjoy seeing it. If so, please contact me directly by using the ‘Contact’ page:
Thanks for your comment!
I would If I could find it!! I will look some more. It really hurts not to find it. al
I know how frustrating it can be trying to find things like that. I appreciate your efforts either way. Thanks again!
Saw Sir Douglas Quintet at Lagoon in ’68. Big Brother, The Doors and Jefferson Airplane were great. Jimi Hendrix blew us away. What a ‘bitchin’ time for Rock n Roll!
Amazing list. I seen a lot of them in the 1960s.
Just complete awesomeness… I love it. YES.
I was sure I saw Pink Floyd at Lagoon. It was in an open air area when we were walking around…in early ’70s I’m sure.
I was born in ’80 and love the oldies!! I sure wish I could have seen some of those bands!! I’ve seen Steve Miller, ZZ Top in Wendover and Australian Pink Floyd, which was better than I thought it would be!!
As a Californian I’m totally surprised at not just the musicians that played at Lagoon, the amazing variety of music… from Nat King Cole to Jefferson Airplane. When we thought of SLC we thought of dead head LDS, but this was really going on!
