What a great article of the history of the Terrace Ballroom. That said, I believe there is an omission to this list. In 72ish Loggins & Messina played The Terrace.
I do not have ticket proof but, it was one of the best concerts I ever attended and both people I attend the function with will concur.

Thanks,

Casey Pons

I don’t have dates but do have a faulty memory, being old, but I remember Loggins & Messina also and they were fantastic. Poco, Blue Oyster Cult, Lee Michaels, Pink Floyd at least three times, Alice Cooper, ++? Holden Caulfield was a local band that played for a lot of dances, I have a cassette tape of them in Springville. Great times for music and only about $5 for a ticket and the jades were passed around free.

70s Deep Purple concert had my ears ringing for days. I was 2 rows back, right in front of Blackmore

I was at the Loggins and Messina as well. One concert at the ballroom that’s not there is Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, and that would have been in either 67 or 68.

I don’t recall the date, but I vividly remember one of the best shows at the Terrace featured Blue Oyster Cult and REO Speedwagon. Does anyone remember this as well?

Thanks much for this.
I think there were more Beach Boy visits.
In fact, I was 13 years old in a band called The PoorBoys and we had won that summer’s battle of the bands. By doing so, we were asked to play an “opening” set before The Beach Boys later that evening. Not saying we were opening for them, but to us it was the same.
Fun stuff

That would be an amazing experience for sure. Thanks for sharing.

I try to keep the list as accurate as possible, but it is far from complete. I usually try to have confirmed date before I list a performance. Do you happen to have a date for the time your band played? Even if it was just a month and year?

Our band Celebration played there twice in 1973. Once in January warming up for Steve Miller Band and later that year with Badfinger.

I always thought the Terrace was a great place! Loved the soft seats, coat check, booths, great atmosphere! I remember attending Christmas parties there and I know in ’77 or ’78, there were three groups that played in one night; Meatloaf, Foghat, and I think it was REO. What a sweet night that was!
